A hilarious and razor-sharp satire features excellent performances from an A-list cast. Not always easy to combine funny with depressing, but the balancing act in tones mainly was successful.
My problem with some Adam McKay films like Vice is they were heavy-handed and obvious, but I legitimately didn’t feel that way about Don’t Look Up. This film is less rough around the edges and more focused, even nuanced. Not everyone seems to agree with my assessment, but I think this film does a great job capturing the current tribal world in which we live.
One of my favorite films of 2021.
